THE KNITTERS' HYMN
sung to "The Halls of Montezuma"
From the halls of Knitting Corners,
to the doors of Yarns and Such,
I am buying all the yarn I can,
I can never have too much
I'm storing it in the cellar,
under beds and dressers too.
My house looks like a yarn barn,
or a fluffy fuzzy zoo
I am making up sweaters
just as fast as I can knit.
They are having yarn sales everywhere,
and my husband's having fits.
He says not one more ball of yarn
can come in the house today.
So I trot off to the yarn shop,
and put it in lay away.

Knit one purl two,

In the winter I can knit a sweater
I'll pretend it's for a movie star
He'll say are you married I'll say yes sir
But I'll knit you seat covers for your car
Later on, we'll go shopping
We all know, there's no stopping
It's such a big thrill
